Manipur sexual violence: Angry mob torches man's house

A video of the mob setting the houses on fire where the women were present has surfaced.

In Manipur, the main accused who committed atrocities against two women had their house set on fire. On Thursday, 20th July, in the Checkmai area of Manipur, a sudden mob gathered and set the house of the prime suspect, Khuyarum Heradas, on fire. A video of this incident is also going viral on social media. The video shows that most of the crowd consists of women who are holding large sticks and rods in their hands, while they are demolishing the accused's house.

In the case of sexual violence against women in the Cooki community, Manipur police have arrested a total of four suspects. The first arrest was made during the night between 19th and 20th July. Later in the evening, Chief Minister Biren Singh confirmed the arrest of another suspect. Now, there is news of two more suspects being apprehended. Manipur police provided this information. Until the news was reported, only one suspect's name had been revealed.
