Gia Manek Aka Gopi Bahu As Jeannie And Ali Asgar In ‘Jeannie Aur Juju’ -The Indian Make Of Popular English Comedy Show 'I Dream Of Jeannie'

That’s right Giaa Manek will now be essaying the role of a Jeannie in an upcoming comedy show ‘Jeannie Aur Juju’ on ‘Sab Tv’ channel and will be starred opposite the humorous Ali Asgar who will play the role of Vicky the master. The storyline is inspired from the 60’s English comedy show I Dream Of Jeannie (which used to be telecasted on Sony tv channel in Hindi, surely the 90’s people would remember it by heart) which starred Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman

The actress who starred as the famous Gopi Bahu in ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’, was made to lose the serial by the Starplus channel as the Gopi Bahu wanted to join a celebrity dance show ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’ which is telecasted on a rivalry channel ‘colors’, and to her dismay she lost that show also out of competition. The remake also goes around the life of Vicky (Ali), a smart and sensitive man who by profession is an established pilot. Vicky finds Jeannie (Giaa) and the Jeannie falls for her master, makes a mistake with her magic every day, and somehow manages to clear the chaos before the dawn.

With a brief chat with Anooj Kapoor, the Executive Vice President and Business Head of SAB TV, he acknowledged that “With Giaa in the show, we’re sure to attract a huge audience to watch the show, as she has a big fan following. Giaa’s innocence works for the character and Ali’s experience will enhance the show even further”.
Looking back at other serials like Bewitched which was adapted as Meri Biwi Wonderful, and Small Wonder as Karishma Kaa Karishma – these serials instead creating a magic of their own, they actually made us to divulge in the memories of the original. Nevertheless we expect the show to do extra ordinarily well and create the same nostalgic moments, which were delivered by the original Jeannie.
