1. High speed Rails

Dr Dionysys Larder (1793-1859) predicted that

“Rail travel at high speed is not possible because passengers, unable to breathe, would die of asphyxia”.

Dr Dionysys was a professor of Natural Philosophy and Astronomy at University College London.

“It would be possible to transmit the human voice across the Atlantic before many years".
