Driving in the dark becomes a more relaxing experience with BMW Night Vision. This optional system reveals pedestrians or animals up to 300 metres ahead of the vehicle, thanks to an infrared camera that transmits a clear, high-contrast image to the Control Display. Even before an object comes into range of the 5 Series Sedan's headlights, you can identify it and react to any possible hazards appropriately.

BMW is the world's first car maker to offer person detection. Intelligent algorithms look specifically for pedestrians shown in yellow in the video. Should the system detect any danger to individual persons, the driver receives an additional warning on the Control Display or optional Head-Up Display.
