I had mtnl broabband from last4 years and beleive me its the worst service ever never go for it , i had to stick it because i did,nt have any 2nd choice ,in a month my internet altest got problem for 2-3 days or sometimes 10 days , and if i talk about mtnl staff they have very odd attitude , they dont care about your problem they dont even listen your problem instead of helping us they replied that (ham kuch nhi kar sakte piche se dikat hai) so never go for mtnl internet and i dont know about tikona but now i booked den boomband , in my area i heard from many people that den internet is so far better than mtnl and very fastspeed in low price so lets see.

" Funny thing is.. Govt residential areas Like R.K.Puram are given no ISP other than Mtnl(for Broadband). so for us unfortunately souls living in these areas.. god help us.

MTNL is the worst connection i think this post has exact same issue as mine so there are many victims of MTNL .. never get a MTNL if you are thinking about it. well my advice if you are about to disconnect your MTNL connection first change your current plan to lowest possible rate MTNL offers then apply for disconnection so that even if MTNL slows the process and sends you bill even after application you wont be losing too much money.. MTNL is a sister concern company of BSNL and comes under Central Govt... The customer base of MTNL is nearly 5.92 million. And from past few years the graph is going down even if the Indian Govt. is spending too much of huge amount to uplift the customer base, but still the graph is going down and the main reason is their “GREAT SERVICES”. The MTNL lineman don’t have enough idea to configure even a modem and to solve a single complaint they take nearly 1 month or more because the don’t have enough workforce and the coverage area is very big. And when you see the MTNL exchange you become shocked to see their exchange, made of HUWIA equipments, and when you see the AIRTEL exchange you will find Ericson equipments just because the cost of HUWAI equipments are nearly half then Ericson. Basically they have two type of exchange one is for 256 Kbps and one for above 256Kbps, if you buy plan for above 256 then you may get good response because for that only they use Ericson exchange. I don’t know why the Govt. change the plan to get more customer and spend a huge amount in ads, the salary of lineman is nearly 15000/-, I think this is a total waste. Customers are very much frustrated from MTNL. If you visit the MTNL exchange you will find many customers shouting on the Area Manager. MY personal experience with MTNL was pathetic and now I switched to another services provider and now I am very much satisfied.

hey, kiran is 1000% correct..i live in rohini, new delhi. my modem works only continously for 5-6 mins and then turns off all by itslef..and i dont know why this happens ..but its sure a faulty modem..i called them several times..but no respite..and once i got a bill of rs. 2000 because the screwed callcenter executive gave a wrong plan! i am so screwed up with mtnl that i have written a blog about it diffusionofthou ghts.blogspot.c om u will like it...i promise

@Kiran, the above article is the the truth in rohini area.The government employees of rohini area are very lazy employee. wonder how I know this because I am facing it too. I am complaining for signal disconnection for about 4 months sending letter to A>G>M to nodal officer but nobody reply. So if it is not happening in your area that dosn't mean it isn't happening in other area. So please mention your area.

@Rishi, Really it happens to many of my friends as well.. Government work India is not changed from the time of independence.. Believe me It became a nightmare for me to have been disconnected from MTNL.. I have got sify and Airtel as well..and there service is far good from MTNL.. Yes i too agree with the speed of MTNL at starting... But it happens to decrease if you use it for longer

Well Sam i symphatize with u it seems u have become the victim of moments but the experience that i have with MTNL Sarkari Babus is absolutely a good one, i didnt face nythin like u mentioned rather ma modem was creating some problem n i wanted to change it even with the cost but these Sarkari babus got it changed without extra money N that too in a single call. earlier i had Airtel N it nearly took ma soul away to get it repaired. So it depends on complaint. cheers MTNL is a good Broadband service varna Baki ki to bat hi kya hai !!!!!!!!!!!

BEWARE OF SPONSORED TRASH BY PRIVATE TEL OPERATORS Well all that talk about SARKARI attitude seems to have befallen only on the above guys. I have a MTNL broadband connections it works perfectly well for me, and for the kind info of my fellow customers MTNL call centre was rated the best compared to AIRTEL , VODAPHONE ....., hence all this gung ho about SARKARI attitude seems to be more of fabricated by AIRTEL, SIFY etc .. etc. BEWARE of these sponsored, self centric, promotional gigs done by Private TEL operators mind u these companies are not in here for social servive but to squeeze every possible penny out of ur pocket.
