Samsung has launched the world’s first handset with a 12MP camera and full touch screen functionality – Pixon12 (M8910) in the Indian market.

Features

Measuring 108x53x13.8mm, Samsung Pixon12 features a 3.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen display. The screen boasts of a contrast ratio of 10,000:1.

The phone packs features like GPS, Bluetooth and an FM radio with RDS. As for memory capacity, Pixon12 comes with 150MB of internal memory and supports up to 16GB of MicroSD cards.

Camera

The phone's USP is its 12 megapixel camera which promises to put it miles ahead of its competitors. Pixon packs a Xenon power LED flash and touch autofocus, which lets users decide the focal point with the touch of a finger.

Pixon12 also has a 28mm wide angle lens and a Smart Auto feature. The phone's Smart Auto feature enables camera to automatically change the scene and mode based on background and lighting. Pixon12 records with 720 by 480 resolution at 30 frames per second.

The phone boasts of a Instant Shoot technology that promises fast saving time of clicked images. Users can also click multiple images with a 2 second gap. Besides these, the phone allows users to organise and manage photos by file names, tags, ratings and time. A multi-selection feature will also enable users to select images in groups rather than one by one.

Connectivity

For connectivity, Samsung Pixon12 M8910 boasts of Wi-Fi, HSDPA/HSUPA and Bluetooth.

Along with the dual-band UMTS/HSPA connectivity, Samsung Pixon12 also offers quad-band GSM and EDGE.

Pricing

Samsung Pixon12 will be available for Rs 29,990.

Recently, Samsung also launched OmniaHD handset in the Indian market. Priced at Rs33,990, OmniaHD is a full-touch handset, equipped with 720P high definition (HD) video recording on mobile and 9.4 cm Amoled screen.
