Mumbai braces for a massive 5.5 metre high tidal wave, billed as the highest in 100 years, to lash it on Friday afternoon. Several people have
been evacuated, warnings have been issued and students have been advised to stay home today.
The high tide is expected to hit Mumbai and the surrounding Konkan region at 2.05pm and the waters will ebb only after three to four hours.
We bring you pictures from the past two days, during which huge waves lashed India’s financial capital forcing evacuation in low-lying areas and damage in several parts of the city.
