They say that true love never dies and that certainly seems the case for one pair of newly weds.
Michael Fitter and Mary Oaten first met in a London church during the final years of the Second World War and enjoyed a brief romance.
But after Michael proposed Mary rejected his proposal saying it was 'too soon'.

‘I've always carried a little flame in my heart for her. When we both became single, I quickly realised that this is the person for me.
'We have so much in common - the same spiritual values, the same business outlook. We laugh and joke and are both on the same lines.'
Speaking at the wedding on Saturday Mary said: 'It's been a great day and it's really nice to see all the families here together.
'It's been a long time coming but it's been a special day.'
The pair became good friends after they first met at church in Hayes in the London borough of Bromley in the mid 1940's.
Michael, of Keynsham, near Bristol, added: 'I used to meet her on her way home from school. I'd wait for her at the crossways and we'd cycle home together.
'We would go to the church youth club together, but we were too young and although I wasn't happy about it, the time wasn't right.'
Mary went on to marry husband John, a farmer, in the early mid 1950's and had three children. Michael married Margaret in 1953 and had two children.
