Search teams on Sunday recovered the bodies of 17 people from the Air France plane that plunged into the Atlantic Ocean with 228 people on board on June 1, a Brazilian Air Force spokesman said. While Brazilian teams retrieved nine bodies, French teams recovered eight, Brazilian Air Force spokesman Henry Munhoz said. Munhoz said other bodies and hundreds of objects had been sighted in the area, about 1,200 km northeast of the Brazilian coastline, and that the priority was to recover the victims. The airliner disappeared mysteriously early on June 1 on a flight from Rio de Janeiro to Paris.
