Meghna was born in the Naidu family on September 19, 1980 in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. She was brought up in Bombay. She shot into fame with a video titled 'Kaliyon Ka Chaman', and instantly became popular as an 'item-girl' in Bollywood.

After prodding from many she made a reluctant application to the Universal company and she was selected because they didn’t wanted a regular thin, fair-skinned model but someone voluptuous and sexy. That’s the way an item-bomb was born.

Her debut movie was in Tamil, ‘Saravana’ with Simbu in the lead role. In 'Saravana', Meghna Naidu had played second fiddle and unfortunately the movie failed to make any impact at the box-office.

But, she really made it big when she made her Bollywood presence in 'Hawas', in 2004.

She is quite familiar to South Indian audiences mostly for her item-numbers and cameo roles in Vikramarkudu, Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule and Pandurangadu in Telugu, Saravana, Veerasamy, Vaitheeswaran and Pandhayam in Tamil and Bada Dosth in Malayalam.

Debuting in Bollywood with ‘Hawas’, Meghna is currently acting in two Tamil films: Vaadaand, Kutty.

Her forthcoming Hindi films include Ishq Deewana and Rivaaz.

She was one of the contestant in ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi’, a show whereby these gorgeous ladies were subjected to the most meanest of tasks, in which some won whereas others ‘chic-kened’ out!

She is engaged to TV actor Kushal Punjabi who she met about two years ago at a night club. Couple of meeting later, people started noticing that they were more of a couple than friends because both of them used to get possessive about each other. He finally proposed her in picturesque New Zealand.

Meghna Naidu is disturbed and upset with a section of the media putting a fake marriage date across in the newspapers. The actress seems to be in no mind for marriage now.

“Not for three years at least” she says, may be we will sigh a relief and look forward to more item-numbers.
